The NHS App Shows You a Fraction of Your Record
In the UK, your GP record is the closest thing you have to a lifelong health record: decades of consultations, prescriptions, referral letters and test results. Most people have never seen theirs.
Online access usually reaches back only as far as the day your practice switched it on, and it leaves out hospital records, specialist letters and anything private. The rest of your record still exists. It just has to be asked for.

Asking for your full record means a formal request to your practice, the right legal references, and the patience to chase it. We do that part for you, on your written authority.
What comes back is something that most people struggle to read: hundreds of scanned pages, decades of handwriting, no order to any of it. That is the part almost nobody gets past. We transcribe it, structure it, and hand you documents that make sense to you.

Can't I just use the NHS App?
The NHS App is useful for prescriptions and recent GP notes, but it only shows entries added since your practice switched on online access, not your historical record. It leaves out hospital records, specialist letters and anything private, and you cannot export or structure what it does show.
Can you read my doctor's handwriting?
Much of an older GP record is handwritten, often decades of it, and almost nobody can read it. We transcribe those pages as part of the core service, with a plain-English reading alongside the original medical terms. The scanned images stay in your pack, so you can always check a transcription against the page it came from, and where a word genuinely cannot be read we mark it rather than guess.
How long does it take?
GP practices usually respond within a week, though they are allowed one calendar month. The organising itself takes us less than a day. Most people have their pack inside a fortnight.
Is my data safe?
We designed the service from scratch with information security prioritised at every step. Your record is processed with encrypted storage, only in the UK and EU, and with direct identifiers removed before any AI model is involved. We will never discuss or share anything about your health with anyone other than you: not your GP, not your family, nobody.
What happens to my record afterwards?
You keep it. We delete our copy within 28 days of delivery, or immediately if you ask. The pack is a set of ordinary files on standard formats, so there is no portal, no account, and nothing to keep paying for.
What if I change my mind halfway through?
You can withdraw at any point. We stop, delete anything we hold, and you owe nothing, because the fee is only ever payable after your record has been delivered.
The Person Behind the Service
I'm Thomas, founder and sole director of Chronicle Health. I was born and raised in London, and I live and work here.
You are being asked to trust a small company with your medical history, so please check it first. We are registered at Companies House and with the Information Commissioner's Office. Both are public registers carrying my full legal name.
